No(i) Name(D)

L I F E

In a society where brands and labels define the quality of the items, I have realized some of my most used utensils are actually brand-less. The matte black mechanical pencil is honestly my favourite piece of them all - good weight, flawless body, and multiple functionality. Simple things are sometimes the best things...and every object placed in the right context can be beautiful.

P.S Being sick ultimately makes you feel sluggish and you may have the tendency to postpone the things you need to do. Get out of that bed and let's get shit done. Otherwise, you may be too comfortable with the thought that you will always have tomorrow.

Hot White

Discover the wonderful works of Lilla Balazs, the designer and CEO of Balilla accessories.
Her minimalistic and architectural approach to accessories makes her jewelery modern yet timeless. Many respects to Lilla Balazs as each of her collections are handmade, designed, and sourced in London.

When I initially saw the first piece of the SS14 Collection, I knew right away that I was going to love it. The collection is characterized by innovative silhouettes and has an ethereal, yet still energetic atmosphere. I was intrigued by the fact that classic materials such as silk rope and leather worked in perfect harmony with high-tech materials such as pvc and acrylic. The source of inspiration behind the collection is the minimalistic architecture of the Japanese Fuse Atelier.

The SS14 Collection really hit the spot for me as I am a fan of anything with clean cut lines and leather, but all of her other collections are definitely something worth taking the time to see.

Snow Day

W E A R I N G / D I Y

Some sneaky, cheeky shots of me wearing the top I made when I was back in Toronto last week. The night before I was leaving, I decided to cut and stitch up some leather to make this box-y cut shirt. Literally only had 3 hours to make this, (dad complained that the sewing machine was too loud and that he needed his beauty sleep) so the shirt is still somewhat under construction.

P.S There is mad snow everywhere. Beware

24 hours left until I go back to Montreal. In the midst of cleaning and packing, I came across a fragrance that I've forgotten about for a very long time. Certain fragrances trigger past memories and this made me reminisce back to my high school days.
This year, I promised myself to let go of few things whether it be something from the past or something materialistic.  This perfume, ironically, was the perfect balance of those two.

About the fragrance
Top note: lotus flower
Base note: wild rose
Light fresh fragrance (floral) that is soft and romantic.

Happy 2014 everyone. Simplify, and learn to let things go.

Fade Into Black

W E A R I N G

I was never the biggest fan of turtleneck sweaters; the incommodious neck space and the constant desire to scratch the décolleté area. However, over the past two years, I've grown quite accustomed to wearing them. They slowly made their way back into my wardrobe and in brief, this is my typical form of everyday attire now.

Gift Guides: Inspiration (B&W)

L I F E
Holiday Gift Guide
Buying gifts for your loved ones during this time of the year is always stressful. However, it is also the season where we are able express our appreciation and love for those who are close to us.
It is always around this time where I would go online and go through countless amounts of gift guide posts/suggestions and so I thought I would add in my two cents.
I tried to stay gender-neutral as possible and since everyone appreciates fine aesthetics and non-colours, it is also a fool proof gift guide.

From L to R (& top to bottom)

Acne Misty Pullover- Alright, it's expensive and it is definitely not something you would give to a relative that you see once in a blue moon. However, it may be perfect for that one friend who loves fashion when it comes to simplicity and quality...and you know Acne Studios got you covered in that department. It is a menswear fit sweater so it can be gifted to your guy and girl friend.
Stelton Time Clock- For those who love to decorate with class. The clock’s minute arm is linked with and forms the clock face, casting an attractive shadow on the wall. It is about simplicity my friends - although there is nothing quite simple about time.
Armani Dolci Chocolate Tea & Spread- Chocolate! Can't go wrong with chocolates, especially if they're from Armani. Think Nutella...but with a bit of a spice and class. (You can also buy these at Holt Renfrew for my fellow Canadians)
Denny Leather Backpack- Pricey. But oh-so-worth it. A leather backpack with convertible top that can be folded over or clipped up. Hand made in Montreal - need I say more?
Asos Metal Square Doorknocker Earrings- I have the exact same pair of earrings and they are pretty damn awesome. Makes a statement without overpowering your looks. Get asap.
Lucite Desk Collection- I stumbled across the anthropologie website the other day and couldn't help but notice these beautiful stationary items. They also have an acrylic pencil holder that would look stunning with white pencils. For that inner geeky friend :)
Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme- Wouldn't be a complete gift guide without a perfume, obviously. This is hands down, my favourite perfume for guys. This fragrance has a unique combination of luxury, art, and modernity for timeless elegance. Trust me on this one.
Tom Ford Fragrance- Not going to be everyone's cup of tea when it comes to this fragrance but it is gender friendly. If you're a girl and you do not like sweet, fruity or sugary scents, give this a whiff. It is definitely unique and luxurious smelling. A lot of spice and musk (tobacco) that is surprisingly smooth and not vulgar, with a delicate touch of vanilla. It is magical.

I hope few of these ideas were helpful and Happy Holidays everyone!

Small Things

W E A R I N G
Homies Sweater: REASON(here)   Mesh Crop top: Sparkle & Fade (here and similar here)   T-shirt: ZARA   Heels: ZARA   Accessories: ForeverXXI

Hey homies.
These are just some of the stuff that I've bought over the past two weeks. Black, white and silver (pinch of red). Slowly but surely, draining all the colours out of my wardrobe.
I'm pretty sure you can still find all of these things in store (if you're interested). Excuse the poor condition of my hand and nails - they need to be painted and pampered again.

Have a wonderful Sunday, wherever you are!

My Favourite Pair of Jeans

W E A R I N G
And just a little bit of a throwback to last year's summer...
Top: TOBI (similar here)   Jeans: Abercrombie & Fitch   Shoes: ZARA (here and similar here)

Happy 1st day of August! While some of you may be cringing over the fact that summer is almost over, I am actually thrilled that autumn is just around the corner. I personally can't wait to go back to Montreal and just devote my time into my musical studies and obviously, to my blog.

Today's look is just all about being casual and effortless. I think that everyone should own a pair of jeans that fits them perfectly and will also make them feel like a million bucks (bonus point if they're also super comfortable and make your butt look good!) Once you have that basic but quintessential piece in your closet, putting an outfit together almost becomes a no-brainer. I didn't want the look to be too casual so I paired it off with my white, deep-cut bodysuit and a pair of white strappy sandals.

Have a wonderful weekend!

City and Colour

W E A R I N G / L I F E

Skirt: Sparkle&Fade (found here)   Bag: Roots   Shoes: BCBGMaxAzria   Necklace: Topshop

Slowly started to break out of my usual monochromatic outfit by adding an unexpected pop of blue. The goodness of having both long and short skirts as one. A little daring, a bit unusual but nevertheless, a basic staple in my wardrobe.

Who What Where White

W E A R I N G / L I F E

Cardigan: ZARA   Bustier: Dynamite   Shorts: ZARA   Bag: PRADA   Shoes: Steve Madden
On me.. Shoes: Spring (similar here)   Bag: Danier   Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (similar here

Keeping myself somewhat refreshed by sticking with an all white outfit in this ridiculous heat wave. It looked almost too easy and simple so I decided to take it up a notch by layering chunky necklaces.

Today, I've met up with a dear friend of mine who kindly helped me take some photos for my blog. Not only was she a great photographer but she was also wearing a super cute outfit that I couldn't help but take photos of. Those navy blue patterned shorts from ZARA instantly caught my attention :)

We ended up walking around quite a bit (and by quite a bit, I mean a lot) to find a good background for the photos. Anyone that knows me well in real life will know that when they are with me, 9/10 times, they will be walking. A lot.

Jay Ahr Resort'14

Given my recent addiction, it should come off as no surprise when I tell you that I fell head over heels with Jay Ahr's Collection, Resort 2014. The overall vibe of this collection is fresh, clean and athletic. I'm most certainly glad to see that the black & white trend will still continue on.
The athletic yet luxurious feel of this collection has me in awe...
