Home Ground

Sweater: REASON Clothing (here)   Skort: ZARA   Heels: ZARA   Clutch: Handmade

Sooo...if you have been reading my blog for the last couple of days, you'll probably recognize all of the pieces I'm wearing today. What can I say - I can't help but to go back to my trusty ZARA skort and heels. I have to admit, the weather was a bit too hot to wear my homie sweater all day but I've managed to pull through.

I previously mentioned in one of my older posts that I don't like wearing gold jewelery - especially when wearing black. Silver, when mixed together with black, creates the utmost "effortlessly chic" look (and gold doesn't really suit my skin tone). For me, black and gold is a risky combination because it might end up look too flashy and cheesy if it's not done tastefully. With silver, you barely have to think about such thing.

For today's shoot, my friend and I have decided to go back to our old highschool. Our school has an area named the "fishbowl" and it's pretty much one of the best thing about the school. While I was downtown, I've found a similar architectural design on a tall, snazzy building so I had to take a picture of it. It took me back to my home ground.

My Favourite Pair of Jeans

And just a little bit of a throwback to last year's summer...

Happy 1st day of August! While some of you may be cringing over the fact that summer is almost over, I am actually thrilled that autumn is just around the corner. I personally can't wait to go back to Montreal and just devote my time into my musical studies and obviously, to my blog.

Today's look is just all about being casual and effortless. I think that everyone should own a pair of jeans that fits them perfectly and will also make them feel like a million bucks (bonus point if they're also super comfortable and make your butt look good!) Once you have that basic but quintessential piece in your closet, putting an outfit together almost becomes a no-brainer. I didn't want the look to be too casual so I paired it off with my white, deep-cut bodysuit and a pair of white strappy sandals.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Black Petal Cutouts

Top: Anthropologie(found here)   Shorts: ZARA (found here)    Hat: H&M   Shoes: BCBG

The combination of an all black attire with silver accents and unique cutouts. It's almost too easy and I can't resist. I added a plain white paper in the shirt so that you could see the cutouts better :)
Keeping it short and simple (like this outfit).

After the Storm

It was probably not the brightest idea to walk around downtown in this scorching-hot weather (but then again, I never really do make the smartest choices). Like always, my friend and I went to go roam about the streets of Kensington Market.

I honestly recommend checking out Kensington Market if you happen to visit Toronto. They have awesome cafes and quaint restaurants, myriads of interesting and unique vintage stores and best of all, you never really know what you're going to find when you make that unexpected turn.

p.s it is hailing and raining and thunder-storming as I am writing this post

Who What Where White

Keeping myself somewhat refreshed by sticking with an all white outfit in this ridiculous heat wave. It looked almost too easy and simple so I decided to take it up a notch by layering chunky necklaces.

Today, I've met up with a dear friend of mine who kindly helped me take some photos for my blog. Not only was she a great photographer but she was also wearing a super cute outfit that I couldn't help but take photos of. Those navy blue patterned shorts from ZARA instantly caught my attention :)

We ended up walking around quite a bit (and by quite a bit, I mean a lot) to find a good background for the photos. Anyone that knows me well in real life will know that when they are with me, 9/10 times, they will be walking. A lot.

Pale Shadows

I have decided that it was about time that I start showing my face on my blog. At last, after an arduous battle with my brother, I have gotten myself a photographer. We are obviously not the greatest duos... with me being a bit camera shy, and him, being shy with the camera, it was more or less a recipe for disaster.
However, we pulled it through and I hope that with time, it'll only get better. As for now, I guess I'll just have to be thankful for the fact that I have someone there.

Patterns For The Night

The goodness of a sheer white, loose fitting blouse and bold trousers. Although it is 21°C outside, the colour palette of this outfit makes the weather seem somewhat tolerable.
Loud bold patterns are considered to be foreign objects when it comes to my wardrobe. I prefer things that are more simple and delicate in details rather than having chunky patterns and vivid images.
Venturing outside my comfort zone (once again), I decided to give these trousers a shot.

p.s are we actually finished with June already?

The Minimalist

Today's accessories

The constant everyday struggle of wanting to dress both overstated and understated has finally led me to choose the latter. I mean I LOVE minimalist styling. Although it may look bland and tasteless to some, the simplicity and the architectural movement of the whole ensemble may be exactly what others prefer.
Personally, I love my golds. But when it comes to accessories, I much prefer the cooler tone of raw silver against my skintone. There is something about it that makes an outfit look so effortlessly put together.
As for the bag? I love this baby - it's white and it's just right. Granted, it will get dirty but there is nothing quite like having that crisp white leather to help you get through those hot summer days.
